You might like the extended DVD better, we watched it last week to
re-enthuse and it is clearly superior.  Many more quiet moments, a lot
more character development... small small gifts to fans of the books as
well.

Enough better so that at the TT screening last night I found myself
explicitly wanting to see how certain sections will read... in the
'extended' DVD verison next year!
