Sad issueFriday, 17th May 2013Sadly the RTA has got a medical report from my GP Dr Gunesekera to renew my drivers licence recently. The report said that I had Dementia and I needed a driving test to prove that my driving was OK. The local RTA Office set a driving test appointment. The RTA Head Office wrote me a letter which said that they didn't approve of the arrangement to give me a driving test and that they needed to cancel my licence.. I spoke to them on the phone and they asked me to get Dr Gunesekera to send them a Fax which indicated his technical opinion. He said that I was fit to drive. A letter from RTA indicated that they had not changed their decision but they offered that we could go to court to disapprove of their decision. We realised that we couldn't afford to do that so I had to hand in my licence and arrange for Jean to do all of our driving. |
