I am sorry, what is it they should have learned?  Is o-ring failure a
suspected cause?

I am always saddened by the failure of missions. :(

I guess I figured when I was younger that I didn't need to be an astronaut
to get into space because I thought by the time I grew up space travel would
be more common.  How can we get Moore's law working for these sorts of
ventures? :)

I wonder if I'd be unemployed right now if I had tried to be an astronaut.
