Hello Friends,

My good friend Paul Wang and I have been busy organizing a salon for
interesting people to present interesting work. The Salon is part of
an international series of informal presentations that occur regularly
in cities across the globe. It's called Pecha Kucha.

Pecha Kucha, which means "chit-chat" in Japanese, has an great format
for informal presentations. Each presenter shows 20 slides X 20
seconds per slide. This keeps things moving. Topics are all over the
place, which keeps things interesting: Architecture, art, biology,
film-making, music, green technology, trips to the Andes, you name it.
You can see some great samples of past presentations at http://www.pecha-kucha.org/presentations/

The salon is informal. The venue for our first PKN (Pecha Kucha
Nights), next Monday, is the back room of Marc 49 on Telegraph. There
is no cost, and great food and wine is available. Children are warmly
welcome. After all, interesting ideas are for everyone.

RSVPs are not necessary, but would be helpful in terms of knowing
about how many folks to expect. We hope to see you there,

Jonathan and Paul

Presenters: See http://www.pecha-kucha.org/night/berkeley/0

Date: Monday, Feb. 8

Time: 7pm to 9pm

Location: Marc 49, a restaurant / wine bar on 4915 Telegraph in
Oakland (marc49.com).
