Okay, so it looks like the only guaranteed warm place this weekend actually
is in Briones. I've checked the park out and it looks like the huge lawn
area and tables just below the rolling hills are open. The weather's been
dry so biking and hiking will be perfect. Finally, in the spirit of the
World Cup, we could use a couple of cones for a soccer game. And as usual,
bring what you want to grill and drink.

Time: Noon, Saturday June 22nd until dusk, or if it stays warm, later.
Location: Staging area of Briones East Bay Regional Park (behind Tilden
Park)
Directions: Get into the East Bay and then
- take Highway 24 eastbound.
- Exit at the Orinda exit (second after the Caldecot tunnel.)
- Make a left on Camino Pablo. Go apprx. 4 miles to Bear Creek Road
- Right onto Bear Creek Road. Go apprx 4 more miles up the hill.
- Right onto Briones Road. This is the Bear Creek Staging area of Briones
park.
- We'll be to the left of the parking lot.
