[Squishy] free 9/11 concert

the sf symphony is holding a free concert in the yerba buena gardens on
wednesday at 6pm.  spencer's crimson club cabaret is at 9, but i think i may
try to catch some of this, as well. it'll probably just be an hour.

they're doing some really good "american music", including copland's
"fanfare for the common man" (though i prefer joan tower's "fanfare for the
uncommon woman", personally) ;-)  and barber's adagio (remember the
beautiful, sad music from "platoon"?).

oh, and supahstar and chiseled cutie violinist joshua bell is playing some
bernstein, i think.  he performed and did all the stand-in work for "the red
violin" if you've seen that.  man, i had such a crush on him in high
school...

i'd like to get there an hour or so early to claim a patch of grass.  i'll
just be there with a book or something, if you're into it just give me a
