hey all,

next friday, the 27th, is a grand day for pedal pushers and pedestrians.

first, they're closing off 4 blocks of montgomery street downtown as part of
"car-free day." (yeah right) They've made a point of planning nothing
"official," so everyone is welcome to come and use the big open space as
they please, as long as it's safe. i'm thinking urban mini golf? extreme
bocce? random performance art? should spencer bring down a piano and i'll
take my horn? there will likely be drinking, eating, and dancing. the
extra action marching band is supposedly going to crash the party at some
point. fun will be had. i'll be heading up there around 11 or so. anyone
else?

and THEN, at 5:30, perhaps after a post-lunch nap in the sun, is critical
mass's 10 year anniversary! it'll be BIG! it's a potlatch (bring gifts to
share) and a relatively flat ride, ending up in dolores park where a potluck
party will begin. decorate your bike, (is yours still all fuzzy, jenny?)
shake the playa dust off yer costumes, and come celebrate human-powered
transportation!

who's in? if you don't have a bike but want to go, maybe we can figure
something out. there's a few extra bikes here and there.

xx
