Short version:

Quiet ceremonial lowering of the last decorations:
today sunday night, july 31st, from 10pm to midnight:
a countdown of that last moments of eleven years
at 964 natoma to which you are invited

Typically verbose version:

Hi folks,

Aaron Ximm here of 964 Natoma, it's been ages it seems since
last I wrote you... as you may have followed, we were in a
long push to try to re-lease (or buy) 964 natoma, so as to
continue the events we were doing here, such as the Field
Effects series I started back in 2001 with Matt Davignon.

As you may have read, despite the support, suggestions,
energy, and time of many, many people, we ultimately lost
that fight when our landlord decided not to consider any
offers to buy the space -- and not to release to us under
terms that would let us continue to live and make our lives
here.

We were hoping to go out with a bang, but the gymnastics of
moving five lives (and the detritus of many more) in many
directions over the last few months was just too much for us
and the window has closed. I'm sorry it couldn't happen.

BUT... before the last lantern is blown out, we did want to
invite friends and family for whom the space has meant
something to join us one last time, not for a concert, not
for a party, but for a few quiet hours in the emptied space
with a few last decorations -- and a few boxes of party
supplies to finish off -- to tick down the end of the
era.

Our lease officially ends at midnight Sunday (today, in
twenty one hours I guess).

Tommorow will be a long long day for us, but if you'd like,
you can join us tommorow at 10 pm or so:

We won't have much here -- you might want to bring your own
pillow (and take it with you!) -- but we will have the
stereo, some lanterns, some stories to share, and perhaps
a box or two of half-drunk bottles of dubious quality
left from years of events... all of which must go after
midnight.

It felt right to invite you.

Not to a party, not to a show... just for a farewell among
friends.

But if not tommorow... I hope sometime soon.

 love,
and with deepest gratitude for your support,

   aaron

honored to be one of your hosts
    one last time
    at 964 natoma

PS the usual disclaimer, let me know if you'd like off this
list of course... fwiw, it will be quiet until I get my
feet on the ground and find the next venue to continue to
evolve the simple maxim that challenging work is best heard
when maximally comfortable.

PPS stuff we are still vainly trying to unload to a friendly
home:

two free black hollow core doors on folding x-stands --
  e.g. the drinks/swag table

one free comfy green couch -- worn on arms but nice enough

one large heavy but solid(!) white-painted wood armoire
  truck/van style moving

six rolling teal upholstered club chairs

the chairs are currently on the sidewalk with some scrap wood
out front, but the other stuff is inside... come by any time
tommorow and someone should be here
