Today we drove up the Coorong, reputedly a birdwatcher's paradise.

There is, at present, little water in any of the lakes which make up the Coorong. Consequently, there are very few birds.

Having driven all day without any highlights, we decided to call it a day at Meningie.

The caravan park is by Lake Albert, which is not bereft of water and we had the company of many Silver Gulls and Pelican with the odd domestic Goose thrown in.

Our site was next to a flowering gum which was stll in blossom and which was full of New Holland Honeyeaters. Its very pleasant to prepare a meal while listening to and watching these beautiful little birds at very close range.
