We left Willunga under something of a cloud determined to be a burden no longer to the Rodger family and to visit other parts of Adelaide.

Visited the Adelaide Zoo in the afternoon being given the grand guided tour by the head volunteer guide. It was very entertaining and we were impressed by many features of the zoo, particularly the 3 year old McDonald's Rainforest which includes a raised boardwalk giving a privileged view of the many south-east Asian animals and the many indigenous and exotic birds.

We also saw Kemiri, now a 3 year old female Sumatran Tiger waiting for her mate still being arranged by the International Stud Book.

The zoo is only a fraction of the size of Taronga, and it shows in the close and obviously friendly relationships between the keepers and the volunteers.

I would recommend a visit to Adelaide Zoo to any visitor with a sympathetic view of the animal world.

We stayed at the Levi Caravan Park in Walkerville.
