Driving south from Tuncurry, we visited Bennetts Head which has a good view of the Forster beaches.

We climbed Cape Hawke, feeling very virtuous because of the 400 metre climb. The views are pretty good and the birdlife is abundant. We didn't see any of the Eastern Whipbirds but we heard many.

On to Smiths Lake, Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, and Karuah where we stayed overnight. The caravan park has the longest jetty in somewhere but the walk to its end wasn't really worth it.
