Fingal Head, NSW

Needing to escape from Brisbane and from the rain which is deluging south-east Queensland, we decided to head back into NSW.

Tweed Heads didn't seem a suitable place to stop so we headed for the coast and reached Fingal Head on the south bank of the mouth of the Tweed River. When someone asked if the road was still open I had visions of being trapped for days but it seems the high tide can spill onto the road when the river is running full.

Like so much of the coast, we were denied views of the sea by the line of scrub between the park and the beach.

Happily we can button up in the Motley and be very comfortable whatever its like outside.
