We decided to go into Rockhampton to visit the Credit Union and to do a little shopping.

On the way we had lunch at Mount Morgan, a gold mining town once the pride of the industry with a total output of 250 tonnes of gold, now a place time has past by.

The cafe proprietor is a likeable extrovert and an enthusiastic promoter of the town, running a tour of the "many" places of interest including the old gold mine, every morning and afternoon.

Rockhampton is a town big enough to create problems for motorhome drivers. We eventually found a way through the various hazards, including one way streets, no left turns and pedestrian precincts, and parked in a loading zone right outside the Credit Union.

The caravan park was so well provided with trees that it presented something of an access problem for The Motley but we finally settled in and had a good overnight stay.
