After a leisurely breakfast, we set out for Tennant Creek 179 km (110 miles) to the west. We plan to stop there overnight to have the benefit of the air conditioner for at least one afternoon before we get to Alice Springs. Several other motorhomers have the same idea.
We still have to avoid the crush of motorhomes which will undoubtedly occur outside the Alice on Sunday with lots of people wanting to get into the rally early.
Perhaps we will stopover here another night or two and arrange to reach Alice Springs which is 450 km (270 miles) away on Monday night, staying in a caravan park, picking up the mail and dropping off the iBook on Tuesday morning and going into the rally on Tuesday afternoon. We have to be in and settled in time for a 9am meeting on Wednesday.
