We stopped to shop in Narrabri, drove straight through Coonabarabran and settled in for the night at another well known camping area at Hickey Creek.
This one has a NO CAMPING sign but we decided to park for a few (18) hours as we needed some rest. As they say on the RTA adverts, stop, revive and survive. We shared the site with a little camper. No-one troubled us and the traffic noise was not enough to disturb us.
