Tuesday 24th

We continued to the north stopping at Molong for the papers and petrol for the genny, at Wellington for diesel (where the price was 97.6c/l as opposed to $1.02/l in Molong - and 96c.l at Dubbo) and in Dubbo for the groceries.

In Wellington, we met up with the people who had stayed in Canowindra an extra day and sort of arranged to camp with them in Dubbo.

When we eventually arrived at the Devils Elbow camping area there were already there so we happy houred until dark.

Wednesday 25th

It being Anzac Day, we all veged out.

Thursday 26th

We went into town to shop.

Jean had had a sort out some clothes which resulted in a largish bag for Vinnies. We quartered the town in the Motley without finding their shop so I enquired at the Info Centre, only to be directed to a street that we had been down at least twice. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to park and they were closed anyway. We drove on and came across a Salvo's shop with a parking space (well two spaces end for end) so we donated to them.

Friday 27th

Another vegie day.

The last night of our stay in Dubbo had been designated a camp oven cooking night. In the event we were the only ones with a camp oven in the fire. This was a notable occasion because it was our first attempt at cooking in the camp oven. Sadly, the meat was tough and I had put too much rice in the stew but it was good to have made the first step. Perhaps one day I will become proficient.

The camp fire was really good because Warren had decided to clean up the park and use all the wood that was lying around. we chatted until late trying once again to fathom the infinite intricacies of the universe.
