We went into town to go to the show to see a theatrical production called "Way Out West".

The show was really entertaining and pretty well done. It was just an old time music hall thing about people from the outback of Queensland. It is interesting to note that it was strongly pro aboriginal and must play a part in the process of reconciliation.

We left St George towards the north and stopped at Surat. We found a caravan park so decided to take the on power and on town water option. the park was very basic and not very attractive but we were quite warm and comfortable.

Jean later found an entry in the local tourist brochure inviting us to free camp at the Surat Fishing and Restocking Club Park by the river.
