Another long day ahead.

It started badly when I lost last night's dinner before breakfast.

In the event, we had quite a good day, driving down the Burnett Highway through some attractive country.

We had been up this road when we travelled to Townsville in convoy with nine other motorhomes in our novice days and it was interesting to compare our view of the road then and now. On the previous trip everything was new and we had much to occupy our minds with no previous experience to guide us. We were lucky to be in good company then. This time we were much more relaxed and were able to appreciate the countryside in a quite different way.

On our previous trip we had stayed overnight at Gayndah in the Lions Park and the President of the Lions Club had joined us for morning tea and extended a welcome to us with an invitation to all motorhomers to stay in the town using their free camping sites. In the light of such hospitality, we had to stop over here again. We shared the Zonhoven Park with a truck load of cattle but only for a short time. The night was peaceful and we woke up to a beautiful misty sunrise over the Burnett River.
