Tuesday 4th

At breakfast time, Al rang to say that he had had enough of Sydney and wanted out. I suggested he come to Brisbane to try his luck but as all the family are going to be in Armidale this week, we arranged for him to meet us there.

I got in to Armidale at lunchtime and went straight to Hilda Avenue hoping that I wouldn't be trapped in the cul de sac. In the event, it was easy to park and I had no trouble getting around the turning circle.

I drove to the caravan park after lunch, settled in, and took the Little Motley off the trailer, went into town to buy the paper, and back to Hilda Avenue for dinner. Al arrived in town at about 7.30 so I drove to meet him where he had parked and shepherded him back to Hilda Avenue.

The kids were really pleased to see Uncle Al and Jean was overjoyed to know that Al was moving to Brisbane and that he would be able to pick her up from the airport when she flies in to Brisbane from London.

Monty who was stressed from the long journey disappeared as soon as he was let out of the cage so we spent a considerable part of the evening searching for him - without success.

The plan was for Al to sleep in the Motley but he decided to sleep on the couch at Hilda Avenue in case Monty turned up.

Monty eventually turned up hiding in the next door neighbour's shed.
