We hadn't seen the Kerrs for over a year so we took the opportunity while we were in the area to visit them.

We spent all the time there catching up and solving the worlds problems.

They had put a huge amount of work into the nature reserve they have made on the adjacent block. The rubbish and weeds are all gone and paths have been laid through the area. the whole area is mulched except for a glade in the centre which will be grassed with native grass. Val is selecting all indigenous species whiuch are attractive to birds for the understory she is planting to complement the mature and young trees which already grew on the block. It is a haven for the local wildlife including wallabies, possums, bandicoots and echidnas as well as many species of birds. It is a very pleasant place now and in a few years it will be a fully restored and complete ecosystem. Some of the locals don't appreciate what they are doing and Val is called the Green Grannie in the local pub, but there are plenty of like-minded people in the community to provide support for this wonderful conservation effort.

On Wednesday night we went to Yamba to have a delicious meal at The Spice Rack.
