Just as we were about to leave the rest area, I discovered that we had a partly deflated tyre on the trailer and that the spare was also low in pressure. I inflated both tyres from the Motley's compressor and decided to press on to Mildura to have them both mended.

As we were about to leave. Jean noticed a faint whistle. I investigated and found that the electric step controller was misbehaving and wouldn't retract the steps when the door closed. I spent some time trying to determine the cause of the trouble but finally decided to un-couple the mechanism and revert to manual retraction.

While we were stopped for morning tea, I decided to check the tyre pressures. Both were once again badly under-inflated. I remembered that I carry a tyre repair kit so I set to work to mend both tyres.

Despite all the problems of the morning, we made it to Cullulleraine in time for lunch Being reasonable happy that the tyres were OK, we decided that we should camp up at Lock 9 where we had stayed early on in our motorhoming career.

We had an interesting chat with the lock keeper before a very quiet and peaceful night.
