As we were going to Sarah's Graduation Dinner at the Casino, we decided that it would be better to be parked up somewhere nearby so that we wouldn't have far to drive home. We booked in to the caravan park at Tallebudgera where we had stayed before and knew that there was room for the rig. We drove down in the morning and, though the traffic in the Gold Coast was awful, we settled in time for lunch.

A very idle afternoon set us up for the evening's festivities.

The Graduation was an amazing affair. There were about a hundred people graduation from the Master Trainer Courses at Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. They all had invited at least on guest and many more than one so there were about three hundred people there. The atmosphere was set by the loud bouncy music and a big screen display of photos of all the graduates with their guests taken as they arrived and loaded onto the system while we were having pre-dinner drinks.

The food was delicious and because it was a buffet, they had members of the staff of the college getting meals for those of us that would benefit from and appreciate the attention

I bought champagne for Sarah's lot which included Jackie who had turned her life around and graduated herself as a PT a year or so ago as a result of Sarah's life coaching

The presentation was a very upbeat occasion with all the staff of the college forming a guard of honour for the graduates and the MC calling everyone up by their college name which includes an appropriate adjective before the real name like Sensational Sarah Marrett

The music was all loud and the graduates left the stage to "We are the Champions". It all sound very American but the sentiments expressed we about setting out to make your dreams come true, achieving your goals, and helping others to be fit a and healthy gave it a good feeling and I'm sure the graduates would have gone home on a real high and motivated to succeed.

The most unexpected thing about the evening was the wide range of people in the graduating class. I expected them all to be young skinny gym junkies but there were a significant number who didn't fit that description. There was a career soldier whose hair was the same colour as mine and who plans the be a Personal Trainer in his second career, there were several men in their thirties, and there was, of course Sarah who was singled out by her mentor, Rowena, director of the college, for special mention as an example to all for her enthusiasm, her charisma, and her contribution as a full time presenter.

Clearly Sarah has enormous regard for Rowena and Kerry and I suspect the feeling is reciprocated.

We had to cut and run as the party got started because we couldn't bear the loud music any more so we left the young ones to party on while we returned to the comfort of the Motley.
