Monday 2nd

We had arranged to spend some time with the Procter's so we headed for Cooroy. We chatted for a long time catching up with all that had happened since we were last here in January.

Tuesday 3rd

The ship has arrived in Brisbane but the books won't clear customs until tomorrow.

Wednesday 4th

The Quarantine Service decided that the containers need to be fumigated so the books will be delayed another day.

Thursday 5th

The truck with the books arrived at about 2 o'clock and the fork lift arrived at about 2.30. The unloading only took an hour or so but we liberated a pallet of each book and started straight away on the packing of backorders.

By 4.30 we had packed all the express post orders and a major order of 12 boxes of books for a guy in the outback and had delivered them to the post office.

Friday 6th

We completed all the outstanding orders in time to get them in the post before closing time.

Between the four of us we had packed and shipped over 500 books in a day and a bit which was pretty amazing.

We were all pretty bushed by the effort but a couple of messages from grateful customers who had received their books made it all worthwhile.

Helene had spent much time fielding phone calls from irate customers asking when they were going to get their 'overdue' orders. Some people are totally unaware that they are not the only people in the universe. They had all been promised delivery in early May and with a fair bit of luck and a lot of hard work they were going to get just that.
