To ensure an early start, we slept in the Motley. It was pretty cold overnight outside. I hadn't anticipated the drop in temperature and hadn't put the fan heater on so it got pretty cold inside. We both woke up with sore throats.

i went to the hospital to have the cortisone injection in the tendon of my trigger finger and was home by a quarter to nine.

We were away before ten, filled up with diesel in Barraba and headed off towards Brisbane.

Somewhere along the New England Highway, we were surprised and pleased to see a Swamp Wallaby chewing the grass close to the edge of the road and calmly watching us as we drove by. Later, we saw a rabbit run across the road ahead of us. It had been a remarkable day for wildlife observations.

We reached Tenterfield at about half past four and settled in to a powered site in the showground.
