Sunday 31st Dec

It dawned another cloudy day but I was up before eight. I found some more errors in the code of this website so I had to spend some time fixing it.

I found a new burst of energy brought on by the cooler weather. I did some long standing chores including filling in the trench left by the plumber when he connected the tank to the house plumbing, and moving the couple of hundred kilograms (500 lbs) of gravel which had accumulated in the gutter by the driveway. I found some more enthusiasm and painted the inside of the front door. It looks much better.

Monday 1st Jan

I found some energy and set about come outstanding jobs. I fitted a door holder to the new front door, I removed the plastic which had been protecting then leadlight in the doors (they look really good now), I vacuumed the whole house, and I took a break,

In the afternoon I did painted another door. I used up all the varnish so I can't finish the last door until I buy some more. At least the doors in the house proper are finished.

In the evening, we took to the Motley so that we wouldn't have to sleep in a bedroom filled with the smell of drying varnish. The airconditioner was nice and the LCD TV was a pleasant change.

Tuesday 2nd Jan

In the morning, I did some shopping and cooked some corned beef for dinner.

While I was watching the cricket, the wind blew one of the internal fanlights down with a terrific bang. Happily the glass didn't break but I will have to fit pad bolts the all three to stop this happening again.

I took the Motley out to change over a big gas bottle. While I was out, I dumped the black water into my own dump point.

Wednesday 3rd Jan

I had to fix the fanlights, a job that took a fair bit of time and much climbing up and down the ladder. I spent the rest of the day watching the cricket.

Thursday 4th Jan

I had to go to the hospital to have another cortisone injection for the trigger finger which had started up again after a year of no problems. The doctor said that if it recurs, I will have to have it seen to by a surgeon. The only specialist in Tamworth is leaving in May this year so the prospect is not a good one. I can only hope that this second cortisone treatment will provide a permanent cure.

I did some more work on the dining chairs. I got one finished and prepared the material for the others.

In the evening I went to a Lions Club Board Meeting.

Friday 5th Jan

We went for a walk before breakfast and I did the laundry after breakfast. I tried to work on the dining chairs but I felt pretty secondhand so I rested.

Saturday 6th Jan

I had to do some work on the documentation of the Self-containment Scheme which took up the best part of the afternoon.
