We had to set off to get to Bundaberg in time for the Red Hat get together.

I had to go into town early to fix up the problem with the new heater. I had to dump the black water. I decided to use the one in the rest area in town just as a test. It was much easier to use that the one which the CMCA had had installed in the Showground.

We were on the road before ten o'clock. The Dawson Highway has been consigned to the same pile as the Burnett Highway. The first 70 km to Rolleston were good but the next 140 km were mostly very hummocky so we had to travel at about 60 kph.

The day was enlivened by an Echidna which chose to cross the road as we were coming near I was able to slow down and stop quite close so we got a really good look. I am reminded that on our first day on the road in the Motley, we saw an Echidna marching towards Melbourne on the Hume Highway. I also saw a Brown Falcon, a fairly rare sighting for us.

We reached the Dawson River Rest Area in time at two o'clock. I was surprised to see many travellers already camped there. We camped on the outer so we could use the generator if we need to. We used the generator and the new heater to be comfortable and watch TV.
