[Earlier Visits]

I had left a message on the Kerr's answering machine asking them to ring so that we could arrange to visit them on the way home. As we hadn't had a return message, I rang again but got the answering machine again. We assumed that they were away so we chose to go home by an inland route rather than down the Pacific Highway.

We reached Tenterfield just before four o'clock and set up camp in the showground. It was nice to have shore power because the temperature had dropped to 4°C by seven thirty in the evening.
