Monday 1st

I t turned out to be a hot day but I had to do the vacuum cleaning and the laundry. I spent the rest of the day in the living room.

Tuesday 2nd

I walked into town and found that it was quite hot. I didn't get into the kitchen renovation as I thought I needed to ease up on the body pending the resolution of my medical problem.

Wednesday 3rd

It was a hot day but the cloud cover encourage me to set about an outdoor task. Suddenly the sun came out and I had to pause the action.

Thursday 4th

I had a chest x-ray at the hospital in the morning . I took the x-rays back to the surgery and was given an immediate appointment to see the doctor. She found nothing wrong and booked me in to the clinic in Tamworth to have a Holter heart monitor fitted. This runs for 24 hours so I will have to go to Tamworth two days running which is a bit of a pain but I guess it will be worth it to find out what's going on.

I had postponed the task of loading the Motley for the next trip at the weekend because it was so hot. I got a lot of stuff loaded into the Motley by afternoon tea time. We will have to do the rest tomorrow.

In the evening I had a Lions dinner meeting and board meeting so I didn't get home till after nine o'clock. I had not updated the arrangements for the meeting so I went first to the Commercial Hotel where I had a double brandy. When no-one else turned up I rang and found that I had to go to the Victoria Hotel for the meeting. In the interest of sobriety, I switched to squash for the rest of the evening.

During the meeting I sought the permission of the Chairman to make a Personal Explanation (in Parliamentary style) because I had been misrepresented at the last meeting. I had been fined by the Tailtwister because I had "promoted my son-in-law's business". I explained that Linux was Open source software which was written and maintained by volunteers such as my son-in-law who were doing for the world of computing much as we Lions do for the local community, That is use ones talents, skills and efforts to help others without seeking monetary recompense. I was of course fined later in the meeting by the Tailtwister for being "too something or other". I know I can't win but we all have fun anyway.
