[Earlier Visits]

Having achieved everything we needed to do in Brisbane, we set off for home.

We left the showground early, went to Wyllie Park to dump the black water. The council had some guys there doing some kind of maintenance so there was no access to the dump point. Jean wondered if they were taking the dump point out of service as some kind of punishment. She suggested that we add Petrie to the black list.

We headed to Archerfield to visit Camec because I needed some new hatch covers. Happily they had what I needed so we came away fully equipped with replacements for all the hatch covers. I plan to fit them when we get home.

As we were planning a four day transit to Barraba, we stopped at Fassifern at about midday. The journey had been quite trying because the cab airconditioner wasn't able to cope well with the hot conditions; the outside temperature was well over 35°C (95°F). When we stopped, the newly refurbished generator was called in to service so that the Motley airconditioner would provide a degree of comfort. It was a relief to have it all working again. The afternoon sun got too much for the near side windows and I had to put the windscreen protector in the side window to keep the temperature inside from soaring. It would have been dreadful without the airconditioner, it was 30°C (86°F) inside with it working full blast. Eventually the sun set and everything came back under control so we has a reasonabley comfortable evening. The weather is forecast to improve as we head south and move into next week which will be much appreciated.
