We set off early heading west, planning to make good distance towards Barcaldine. We stopped for morning tea at Emerald and for lunch in a pull off along the road in the Drummond range.
We almost reached Alpha before we found a nice camp site by the river at Alpha Creek just a few hundred yards outside the town. After we had settled in, another motorhome saw us and pulled in to join us. Happy hour lasted until the evening chill drove us all into our motorhomes.
It had been another long day.
