Hey everyone,

After a quieter autumn than I would have liked, I'm happy to
announce a few upcoming events: two of my own (as Aaron Ximm
aka Quiet American) out of town, and two here at 964 Natoma in
rain-soaked San Francisco. As always if you'd like to be removed
from this list, just let me know. Happy new year by the way...
and as Molitov's been saying: 'no more jive in 2005' ~ aaron

PS Any RSS2 wizards out there want to help me get my 'one-
minute vacations' project going as a podcast...? If so
   please write me! (cf www.quietamerican.org/vacation.html)

i. Quiet American performing in Seattle this Thursday, Jan 13

I'm happy to announce I'll be performing an intimate house concert
with Dale Lloyd of and/OAR fame in Seattle later this week, thanks
to the hospitality of my friend Susan Robb (who's invited me up to
speak to her class about sound and my work).

The show will be at 8 p.m. in Seattle near Pioneer Square, and will
cost $3-10 sliding scale with no one turned away. The address is:

 115 Prefontaine Place South #301
between Yesler and Washington (Tashiro Kaplan Arts Lofts)
 Ring #005 for admittance.

ii. 964 Natoma: Zoe Keating & Yvette Molina, Friday, Jan 21

In just under two weeks my hopelessly talented roommate Zoe Keating
plays what might well be her last concert here at 964 Natoma, in
collaboration with amazing Oakland-based painter Yvette Molina,
whose haunting, intimate landscapes can be sampled here:

iii. 964 Natoma: Field Effects 21, Friday, Jan 28

A week later, I'm happy to announce the overdue resumption of
the Field Effects series ~ this month's show will feature sound
and video work from both Japan (Yuko Nexus6 and Mariko Tajiri)
and San Francisco (Scott Arford). Details will be forthcoming
closer to the end of the month, both via this list and at:

iv. Aaron Ximm: 30 fpd Year One in NYC, February

Anyone who's wittingly or un- been prey to my obsessive photo-
taking in the past few years may be interested to know that the
first public showing of the results will be on display in New
York in February, as part of the T-minus2 show at Synchronicity
Space in Manhattan.

I've been collating my pictures into a film a second at a time:
from each day I select thirty consecutive frames to become one
second of video at 30 frames per second. The piece in New York
will be an installation version of the first year's images, which
pauses randomly from time to time to linger on a particular
image.

For more information on the project, see:
 http://www.quietamerican.org/related_mnem.html

Details on the show should eventually arrive here:

 http://www.synchronicityspace.com/

Incidentally I intend to visit the show in person ~ which will
also be a chance to see Cristo's "Gates" in Central Park!
