Lake Macquarie Ramblers Chapter Meeting

Escaping Sydney, we drove like mad to Stroud to see the annual Rolling Pin Throwing Contest on Saturday.

At the showground we came across the Lake Macquarie Chapter of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia gathered for their monthly rally.

They welcomed us into their midst and we participated in their happy hour, disc bowls and after dinner campfire chat.

This is the first time we have met the CMCA on the road. Clearly this group know one another very well but are, nonetheless, very friendly to newcomers. I gained the impression that most of them attend most of their monthly rallies.

Most of the people were retired couples who spend some time every year on the road but who still have a home. They were interested in our nomad lifestyle but none of them plan to live on the road.
