Just as we were going to leave Tamworth without stopping to shop because there was no Winnebago-friendly parking, we found a hidden car park behind the NRMA offices.

The NRMA had up-to-date road reports and we decided to go west towards Gunnedah, Coonabarabran and Dubbo.

We stayed overnight at Lake Keepit. The dam is full after the recent floods and the river is "swollen".

The birds here are numerous, diverse and noisy. I added three new species, Noisy Friarbird, Leaden Flycatcher, and Greater Crested Grebe, to the lifetime list today.

A woman in a nearby caravan "forgot the Aerogard" and blamed her husband for the mosquitos. He got the hump and went off for a walk leaving the flyscreen open! There's no doubt that the whole of life is on show out here
