photo of Platypus ParkToday was Laundry Day

Also web site update day!!!!

There is a little park on the southern outskirts of the town called Platypus Park.

This place is a gem. There is a real live steam train which runs from here to Herberton and back (when it isn't being repaired). There is a beautiful pond which is the old swimming hole and which has been restored with very pretty garden beds. There are ducks, turtles and kingfishers. I guess if you come in the evening you can watch platypus.

There is also a bush path which leads to a discovery walk around Cedar Grove which is the the old Atherton Chinatown of 120 years ago.

We returned to Gallo Park for another free night.
