We set of with the Two Jays to go to the bush camping area we knew about.

We reached Coonabarabran by lunchtime and rested a while there.

I had dropped the Mac and cracked the screen leaving most of the pixels working but a significant area of the screen is now decorated in an abstract design as though the machine was designed by the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation and some of the screen just feels I might prefer abstract art to boring text.

Connabarabran is a fringe area for analog celphones so I climbed onto the roof of the Motley and set about finding the nearest Apple repairer. The young operator at the Apple call centre must have got extremely low marks in geography at school because in response to a request for someone in the Coonabarabran, Dubbo, Forbes area she offered Richmond, Penrith and Dubbo. Well hello! Isn't Dubbo one of the town I mentioned and aren't Richmond and Penrith 300 km nearer to Frenchs Forest than the are to Dubbo.

A call to the guy at Dubbo revealed that physical damage is not covered by Applecare, that there are no screens for PB1400CS in Australia and there is no ETA for the next shipment!

I arranged to call in and talk about what could be done when I get to Dubbo.

The rest area we were heading for is in a tiny town called Mendooran which is somewhere between Dunedoo and Dubbo.

There is a pub with a big car park but parking there is likely to result in a tirade of unfriendly cliches so we followed the signs to the rest area which is down by the mighty Castlereagh River and very pretty too. There is a toilet block for those that need one but we were very happy to soak up some sun and birdsong as we happy houred.
