We took a short leg to a caravan park on the shores of Lake Eucumbene.
The lake looked really empty and, on enquiry, we ascertained that for three years the level has been dropping and it's more than a decade since the lake was anything like full.
Perhaps the builders of the great Snowy Mountains Scheme knew what they were doing but there now seem to be some fraying at the edges.
