We stopped in the marina at Coffs Harbour for a fish and chips lunch. It wasn't good enough to justify the effort we made getting there but "It make a change doesn't it.

We travelled on to the south, reaching Nambucca Heads before we found anywhere nice to stay.

The first caravan park we inspected was at the end of a tortuous back road, was dark and gloomy and wanted $29.70 per night for the privilege of staying there.

We found another one with a great view right on the river for only $22. The park operator offered us discount tickets for the bowling club a short walk away - $3 off a $7 three course dinner. We didn't need a three course dinner which was just as well. A tremendous thunder storm came through and we would have been soaked even if we had avoided being struck by lightning.
