We were late out of bed and we took a walk around the rest area after breakfast and got into conversation with some other motorhomers so we were late getting out on the road.

We reached Halls Creek in time for lunch. I asked Jean if she wanted to stop there overnight but she was appalled by the idea so we pressed on.

The next decent rest area is a place called Mary Pool which is well off the highway, very large, and has lots of shade but it is very very popular so there is competition for the best spots. We found a nice level site and settled in. Our neighbours were from Nambucca Heads and they spend most of the year on the road in their Winnebago Alpine.

We chatted over a couple of drinks until the chill of the evening drove us indoors.
