Thursday 9th

I had booked into the caravan park in Narrabeen for eleven days because we have doctors and dentists appointments and some friends from England will be here in Sydney for a few days. We also need to catch up with some people from the past.

Friday 10th

Up at crack of dawn to go out to the airport to meet Jean. She was pretty bushed having had a difficult flight and not much sleep.

We went to Rampais Thai Kitchen for dinner. It was, as always, very scrumptious.

Saturday 11th

Laundry and rest day.

Sunday 12th

Hazel Young came round for afternoon tea and she and Jean exchanged all the news.

Monday 13th

We had to deliver Bigman's Xmas present so he dropped by and we went to dinner at Ajmers in Balgowlah. The lady there remembered us and sent her best wishes to all the family. It had been a long time and it was great to eat their great food once again.

Tuesday 14th

We had arrange to have dinner with Ron and Mary Hastings so we booked a table at Rampais and spent a very pleasant evening catching up.

Wednesday 15th

Dinner at Bellevue Hill with the Fitzhardinges. Jan was keen to learn all about baby Claire. They are booked to spend a couple of weeks in San Francisco soon and she wanted to know all the details before she went.

Dinner was, as ever at Jan's, excellent and we drank wine and talked until very late.

Thursday 16th

Another rest day.

Friday 17th
photo of Jean and Ro at the Zoo

Ro and Jim Dewey, old friends from University days, had been touring Australia and New Zealand and we spent the day with them catching up on all things English.

They were staying at Cremorne so we went to the Zoo and I gave them the guided tour of the Australian Section. We spent most of the day at the Restaurant at the end of the Zoo, eating, drinking and chatting.

When I asked them how they found Australia as a tourist destination, they said that they were so impressed that they wondered why it had taken them so long to come here.

Saturday 18th

We rang Rachel's friend, Tussie, and went to her place for lunch.
