Despite the apparent separation of the rest area from the road, we had a disturbed night because trucks use it all day and all night for a comfort stop and we might as well have parked on the side of the highway. We resolved to take more care to avoid noisy places in future.
We had planned to check out all the sites on the Barton Highway towards Canberra and all the sites on the Federal Highway towards Goulburn so we backtracked a little and visited Yass to stock up on groceries.
The journey was pretty easy and we got quite a lot of information.
At the end of the day we found a rest area near Goulurn well off the road and settled in for a quiet night.
