We moved to the showground for the chapter gathering. There were already several motorhomers in residence so we picked a nice level site right on the river bank and settled in. As the day progressed, more people turned up and by happy hour we had plenty of people.
Jean and I decided to eat out so we went to the local chinese restaurant and had the smorgasbord dinner. We drank a big pot green tea which was very refreshing.
We went to town to do a little shopping and have morning tea.
I had an appointment to talk to the board of the club about the Self-containment Scheme. They were very supportive and agreed to let us launch the scheme here and let it grow where it will. The board were kind enough to record a vote of thanks to Ross K and me for our efforts so far.
Happy hour was even bigger this evening but I managed to implement the inner circle facing out arrangement so there was plenty of interaction. Vicki organise a raffle and raised enough to buy new disc bowls for the chapter to replace the ones that had gone missing since I passed them on to someone (I can remember who) who was involved in the chapter disc bowls.
The wind dropped overnight and the day dawned with a cheery red sunrise. Unhappily, within and hour, the wind got up again and we looked forward to another uncomfortable day. The wind did died down in the afternoon but it started to rain.
One of our members had had a problem with the disappearance of some of the photos stored in iPhoto on her iBook so I spent some time diagnosing the problem as corruption of the iPhoto database and putting a solution in place. On Alain's advice I moved the database files out of the iPhoto library and re-imported the photos into iPhoto. Unfortunately some of the metadata was apparently lost but at least all the photos were recovered.
