North West Nomads Chapter Meeting

Friday 2nd

We left Barraba at half past nine to go to Armidale to attend a North West Nomads chapter gathering at Dumaresq Dam. We stopped at Kootingal for morning tea, called into Armidale to buy some supplies I had forgotten to load up. We reached the dam at about half past one, set up and had lunch.

We were a bit bushed so we both took an afternoon nap.We joined the happy hour at four o'clock and were warmly welcomed. We didn't get back to the Motley till after seven to have supper.

Saturday 3rd

When I woke up at seven o'clock, we were surrounded by mist. The night had got quite cool and there is more moisture in the air here on the top of the Great Dividing Range than there is at Barraba.

We had lengthy morning tea, afternoon tea, and happy hour with lots of chatting with lots of interesting people. One couple had a beautiful tabby Siamese cat named Murphy with them and he spent quite some time sitting on my lap.

After dinner, i was bushed so I went to bed early.

Sunday 4th

The morning was quite cool again but there was no mist, just a beautiful clear, sunny day.

We spent another convivial day chatting. In the evening we had a wonderful singalong session with Doreen playing her you-beaut keyboard.
