Tuesday 19th

I had been doing a trial keeping the grey water in the tank to see how we would go if we weren't allowed to drop the fresh grey water on the ground. This is apparently a condition of the new CMCA Leave No Trace scheme though I doubt if anyone will either know about the new rule or will care. We have been using 40 litres of fresh water a day and most of it has gone into the grey water tank. I had to get the bucket out to empty the tank.

I decided to move the Motley to another site where we can get access to fresh water without moving the Motley and at the same time I terminated the trial of retaining the grey water so we will be much less concerned about water consumption and grey water storage.

Some blustery cool weather blew in from the south so we stayed indoors.

Wednesday 20th

Another cold, rainy day made it appropriate to stay at home in the Motley. We would like to get out on some more little adventures but that would be a bit silly while it is cold and wet.

Thursday 21st

It rained quite heavily overnight and the day was overcast and quite cold so we stayed indoors again.

I finished the updating of the style of the website. It now has better navigation based on what I devised for the Eco-Camping Australia website.

Friday 22nd

The weather had cleared a bit so we decided to go out. Jean needed some wool so that she could do some knitting to keep herself busy and not spend all her time reading and doing puzzles. The obvious destination was Emerald so we headed north. We found a shop which sold knitting wool and bought some supplies. We went to a cafe for morning tea and then visited a book shop. This proved to be a great temptation as the books on offer were a very different selection from that in the big chain book stores. I found two books I couldn't go past, both criticisms of organised religion. I realised that I was buying in support of my own view but that is not uncommon.

We did some grocery shopping at Coles to buy stuff which isn't available in Springsure. As it was getting quite late, we decided to have lunch in town. A quick visit to Dollars and Sense resulted in a handful of useful stuff which will improve the operation of the Motley as a home.

We got back to Springsure in time for afternoon tea.

Saturday 23rd

Another dull day.

Sunday 24th

I was up early and did a bit of work getting the Motley website in better shape. The revisions I had decided to do turned out to be very extensive and consumed most of the day.

Monday 25th

Another dull day. Sadly the weather doesn't make going out a very attractive proposition so we have to amuse ourselves indoors but that's what we would do even if we were n Barraba so it's no big deal. I had to go out to do the laundry.

It rained all afternoon and evening and the showground turned into a swamp again. Happily we are now parked on the high ground with good firm footing.
