Tuesday 26th Jun

We had to stay on in Springsure to wait for the mail which is being sent on from Barraba. The weather continues cool and wet so we are happy to stay here where we can be really comfortable. We have only three more weeks before we have to be in Bundaberg and with the weather as it is we just might stay here a bit longer.

When I checked at the Post Office, the mail still hadn't arrived.

Jean asked me if a bird outside the Motley was an Apostlebird or some other species. I checked it out and found that it was a Spotted Bowerbird, a first time sighting which increased the number of Australian birds on my lifetime list to 256 (312 worldwide).

Wednesday 27th Jun

The unpleasant weather has gone away leaving a beautiful clear blue sky with golden sunshine. The temperature is still lower than one would like but that is something one can easily overcome with the right clothing.

The mail still hadn't arrived. I hope Australia Post haven't lost it again because this time I would have no way of finding it, last time it was a registered item and I was able to track it with the registration number..

Thursday 28th Jun

We needed to get out a bit but the only roads which wouldn't be very rain affected were the Dawson Highway to Rolleston and the Gregory Highway to Emerald. Jean needed to buy some more wool so we went to Emerald for lunch. We did a bit of shopping and came home in time for afternoon tea,

The mail arrived. It had been delayed because it had to be repacked in Rockhampton because the envelope was breaking open.

Friday 29th Jun

The weather had turned again with lots of clouds.

I set to work on some outstanding tasks for Eco-Camping Australia which I was able to send to Ross for review. CMCA had "demanded" a change in the Eco-Camping Australia website because it implied that they were still associated with the scheme. I chose to update the History page to bring the record up to date.

Saturday 30th Jun

The weather was better and I had an easy day.

Sunday 1st Jul

Another another sunny day. I did a bit more work for Eco-Camping Australia.

Monday 2nd Jul

The weather seems to be set fair though it was pretty cold overnight with a minimum of 5°C (41°F).

I did some shopping and the laundry. I spent some time adding a description of the recent unhappy dealings with the CMCA to Chapter 18 of My Life as and Engineer.
