Monday 17th

I was up at six to find that I was blooming marvellous. I haven't had a chance to find out how much fitter I am now but I haven't had any negative reactions to the angiogram and the fitting of stent. The weather was still overcast but nearly warm.

I went to town at nine o'clock to see if anyone else was manning the raffle ticket stand. Ken was on his own so I stayed to help him. Wal turned up a bit later so I took a time out to pick up a parcel from the Post Office and take it home to Jean. I missed a phone call from the lady at the Cardiac Cath Lab but she said she'd ring again. I went back to the raffle ticket stand after morning tea and we knocked off at twelve thirty. I

In the afternoon I rested some more.

Tuesday 18th

I worked on the raffle ticket stand again.

In the afternoon I took the doctor's advice and rested.

Wednesday 19th

I went to town to see if there were any volunteers for selling raffle tickets. There was only one so I did a full three hour shift.

Thursday 20th

Once again there was only one other Lion ready to man the raffle ticket stand so I did another shift.

The wound in my thigh seems to have healed up quite well but I will give it some more time before I test it with strenuous work.

In the afternoon I printed labels from my database to help Jean re-create her card index of addresses.

Friday 21st

I went to town to take the till and the cakes for the other guys to use on the raffle ticket stand.

At lunchtime I took advantage of a spell of dry weather to mow the front lawn. It only took 20 minutes and I felt perfectly fit afterwards. My heart rate had gone up to 80 bpm but returned to 60 bpm quite quickly.

In the afternoon I did quite a bit of futzing. I had got my mother's death certificate from the Registrar General so I scanned it and entered the scan and the details in my copy of the family tree. I realised that I haven't updated the version on the website since 2006.

The delivery of the certificate was a little late. I was unable to answer questions from the medics about my medical history. The answer I could have given if I had received the certificate earlier was "My mother died at age 36 from a Pulmonary Embolism". I'm sure this has little relevance to my case. My father died from cancer but he was a lifelong smoker. Checking the data in my family tree there are many ancestors who lived to advanced age some lived to 89 and some longer.

Saturday 22nd

I got a call asking for more cakes on the raffle ticket stand as they had sold all the stock yesterday. I took a box into town and then did the shopping.

I couldn't mow the lawn because it was threatening rain so I got the clippers out and started on the hedge which looks a bit like it need a haircut as the new growth is so long after all the rain we have had. I got a few feet trimmed before the rain started again.

I did some more futzing in the afternoon. I checked the family tree on the website. It doesn't contain the information I nave added to the database so I don't have to do a website update. I will look at modifying the code on the website to see if I can include some of the new stuff but it's a big job so it will take some time.

Sunday 23rd

The weather has changes to fine and clear so it was a bit cooler overnight. I got out early and sprayed the lawn with a new weed killer in a other attempt to get rid of the catheads. We also took advantage of the fine weather to do the laundry.

We both did some cooking in preparation for Xmas. Jean did summer pudding and mince pies and I did dhal, vege curry and junket. I'll do a chicken curry tomorrow and on Tuesday I'll do tandoori chicken, bhajias, and pappadums. We will celebrate Xmas with lots of yummy and diabetic friendly food and some nice chilled Banrock Station White Shiraz.
