I was a bit cold overnight in the Motley and we both slept badly. The day dawned bright and clear. We had breakfast in the Motley but Jean had a shower in the house to save using the water in the Motley tanks. After a last pass through the house checking that we had everything we need, I had to do some last minute chores; refilling the fresh water tanks, cleaning the windscreen and loading the Terios onto the trailer, and switching off the electricity, gas and water.

We set off for Brisbane planning to take a very easy four day trip. We got away at a quarter past ten and, after stopping for morning tea just out on Bingara and for lunch at Inverell, we reached the Severn River Rest Area just north of Ashford at a quarter to three having covered 207 km (124 miles) in three and a half hours, the low average speed being due to considerable lengths of bumpy road.

It was quite hot so I fired up the generator and put the airconditioner on. We veged out for the rest of the day. Jean had had a headache in the morning but it got a bit better after taking some tablets at morning tea time and it went away altogether after lunch so all is well.

It didn't cool down until quite late but we got an early night anyway.
