The countryside between Moree and Goondiwindi is much more fertile than I had imagined. The soil is dark and the paddocks are really green with lots of trees.
Goondiwindi is another town much bigger than I had imagined.
Sadly, the monument to Goondiwindi's most famous inhabitant, Gundsynd, a magnificent, all-conquering racehorse of the seventies, is much smaller that he deserved.
