The weather is still less than nice. It has been raining pretty well all the time since we left Wangi Point.

It is usually a very pleasant drive up the Hunter Valley and up onto the Great Dividing Range. The fields are all very brown now so they can;t have had much rain this summer. I suppose the farmers are really happy. For us it takes some of the gloss of the journey when its overcast and raining.

We had morning tea at Werris Creek, having taken the detour through Quirindi for a change. We were surprised to find so much railway activity (they clearly don't call this the railway capital of NSW for nothing).

Lunch was at Bendemeer where we saw the remnants of the motorhomer contingent from the Country Music Festival which has just finished in Tamworth. The weather not being conducive to happy houring and the batteries being low, we continued our journey stopping for the night at Uralla. I seemed to remember Sarah recommending the "other" caravan park in Uralla so we tried it. Quaintly, they give you a fridge magnet advertising the park and offering a 10% discount on all subsequent stays.
