We had an uneventful night. The caravanners had gone before I woke at 6. We left at a respectable 9.30.

We stopped in Forbes to buy the papers. When we returned to The Motley we met a lady from Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast who amazed her family in 1998 by selling her house and becoming a grey nomad. She's having such a good time she wouldn't swap her lifestyle for quids.

We finished up in West Wyalong camped in the shadows of the Mine Winder. On the way we encountered a sign announcing the FRUIT FLY EXCLUSION ZONE and exhorting us to eat all our fruit. I ferreted out the map which shows the Zone boundaries and found that the sign was a 100 km warning and that we could wait till our overnight stop, stew up all the fruit and have fruit stew and custard for dinner. The restrictions are very necessary but a bit of a pain for all that so its nice that there can be an upside sometimes.
