Sunday 18th

Up at sparrowfart again and out doing some more weeding.

I spent the rest of the day in the living room reviewing and revising the new website.

Monday 19th

Another couple of sessions of weeding before breakfast followed by some shopping and coffee at the Country Cafe.

The interior doors of the house are nice old solid timber panelled doors but the panels had been green (to match the green walls which were painted "clotted cream" when we moved in). I set about the task of fixing them so that I might get it done before we leave to go north for the winter. I took the door of the living room and prepared it for paint stripping only to find that I had no paint stripper. Oh, well, tomorrow's another day.

Tuesday 20th

More weeding before breakfast and more shopping after breakfast. The weather is turning hot again so there's less chance of getting a lot of work done.

I bought some paint stripper and set about cleaning up one of the doors. I got one small panel stripped. There's still a lot of work to do with the scrapers and the sander but it looks betted already. This job is a bit like the weeding, it will have to be done in many small chunks.

In the afternoon I planned on taking a siesta but I realised that the kitchen cupboards are due to be delivered today so I had to tidy up the "store" room to make room for them.

Wednesday 21st

Up early and on the net. Did some more weeding before breakfast. I have already dug out many grocery bags full but there is still a fair way to go. I don't believe I've killed them all so I'll probably have to do this again next time it rains.

With all this talk of catheads, I realised that you probably have no idea what a cathead is so I took photos of the a selection of catheads which show the resemblance to cavalry tacks, and a cathead plant. While I was doing this I found a most beautiful moth in the kitchen so I took a photo of that as well. I forgot to include a scale in the photos. The catheads are about 9 mm (0.4 in) across, the plant is about 300 mm (12 in) from end to end and the moth about 16 mm (0.6 in) wingspan.

Thursday 22nd

More weeding. We waited in for the delivery of the kitchen but it didn't arrive. The courier picked it up from Tamworth yesterday but we have no firm delivery date

I spent the afternoon working on the changed to the new website.

In the evening I had a Lion's dinner meeting. I didn't recite any poetry but I still got fined, this time for dancing (don't ask).

Friday 23rd

Just after I finished the morning weeding session, the courier arrived with the new kitchen cupboards, We unloaded them into the store room. The bench tops are not ready yet so the installation will have to wait.

I did another revision of the website

Saturday 24th

I did a stint of weeding before breakfast. Unfortunately the weeds are growing faster than I am getting rid of them. When we get back from the next trip, I'll have an enormous problem with them.

I assembled the new pantry and moved stuff around in the store room to fit it in. We now have a sizeable back room food store. Having worked all day, I had to veg out in front of the TV.
